I love fall. Even gloriously-sunny fall mornings :) The cooler air, the colors of autumn leaves, the magic surrounding Halloween… It’s my favorite time of year.
But really, I love all seasons and how they change from one to the next. I get excited about the look & feel of each new season of the year. Warm orange autumn, red & white snowy Christmas, sparkly New Years, fresh floral spring, late night summers… It’s a never-ending wheel that offers something new every couple of months, alongside tradition of years past.
Every season I find myself adding to my pinterest boards and also collecting images for my own personal screensaver on my computer.
Here’s mine for this fall:
This Magic Study in the Fall screensaver/moodboard is inspired by a mixture of the autumn season + back-to-school learning + magick. Think: the first scenes of ‘Hocus Pocus’ in Salem. Think Hogwarts. It’s that feeling of waking up for the first days of school on a cool September day. Pulling on a jacket as you sling your textbooks over your shoulder, walking through the crunchy leaves to school or university. Reading and studying in the morning, watching the golden light shift through the window of the library, surrounded by that wonderful musty smell of old books. Walking home in the late afternoon with a warm breeze making way for dark clouds and showers moving in. Getting home just in time for the rain, pouring yourself a cup of hot tea, lighting a few candles and clearing time for reading something a little darker and spookier.
I like to always display my “moodboard” screensavers in the Shifting Tiles configuration on OS X. It creates an orderly layout of the images I’ve saved into a folder, making the perfect shifting moodboard.
